With over 24 years of experience as a counsellor and supervised contact worker, Lisa works with children and families across a wide range of situations. Her counselling services support children who may be navigating disability, trauma, separation, mental health concerns or significant changes in their lives.

Lisa’s approach is person-centred, which means she takes time to understand each child as an individual and gently guides them to build confidence and make choices that feel right for them. She draws from a range of therapeutic approaches, including Sand Tray Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy, Play Therapy and Trauma-informed Practice, shaping each session to suit the child’s needs and personality.

Alongside qualified therapy dog Bailey, Lisa creates sessions that feel calm and approachable. For many children this helps children feel more at ease, making it easier to open up, build emotional understanding and develop the skills they need to manage everyday challenges.

Animal Assisted Therapy

Bailey

Bailey helps people navigate their emotions and better understand social cues. Bailey provides a warm, interactive experience, and recognising similar issues in Bailey, like anxiety or impulse control can help children relate and learn self-help skills.

Qualified Service Dog

The cats provide a quiet, calming presence within sessions. Observing their behaviour can help children notice social cues such as body language, boundaries and the need for space. This can support emotional awareness and help children practise staying calm.
